Service to the Community for Over 80 Years

Our members enjoy the broadest range of gardening including perennials, annuals, roses, shade and sun, rock gardens and water gardens, carnivorous and tropicals, even indoor gardens. And sometimes, no gardens but a great passion for beauty and friendship.

We support the community through a variety of projects and activities. Our efforts are funded by our fundraisers, the Spring Plant Sale and the sale of our note cards which feature member's gardens.

We design, plant and maintain four town gardens; the Margaret Trotter Memorial Garden at the corner of Main and Center Street; the Ellen Buckley Memorial Garden on the Green; the Children's Butterfly Garden in Northwest Park; and the Vietnam Memorial Park Garden, designed to honor our veterans and beautify our community.

Each year, our members support the annual decoration of the Historical Society's Cheney Homestead for its Holiday Open House and create an interpretive arrangement for the Wadsworth Atheneum's Fine Arts and Flowers.

Our annual scholarship is awarded to a college student who is enrolled in a horticultural or conservation program. (Application)
